Citizens of Richford from Ken Miller,
Thank you for your confidence and trust in voting me into office on the town
board. I will do my best to serve you well. This is a big responsibility that I take very seriously, but can't accomplish
alone. Each and every one of you can help by contacting me (or other board members) with your thoughts and concerns.
If you have thoughts about changes or a concern about our town, please bring them to me either in person, phone or
email through the town's web site (www.richfordny.com). You can also come to any board meeting with your concerns. At times I will need your input on concerns of the town.
I hope to post them on the web site and get your feed back in order to make a good judgment decision.
One concern presently
is the town's garbage service. At $.05/lb, you can't higher a privates service for anywhere near that cost. The town
is presently losing some $3,000.00+ a year on this service. That slack is being taken up by tax money. I would like to see
the fee raised to $.10/lb. This would make the service stand on its own and provide capital to be set aside for repairs and
the purchase of a new truck when warranted. This fee would still be way under what private service costs are and keep
our town clean, while paying for itself and avoiding using tax monies for the service. You can help me by letting me
know your feelings about raising the fee to $.10/lb, or higher or lower. Thank you. Ken Miller.
